On June 12, 2026, Shelby drove a 40-foot rescue bus for Fly With Me Animal Rescue, leaving Dartmouth to embark on an 80-hour round-trip drive to Tifton, Georgia, to save 50 cats and dogs from euthanasia. Upon reaching the shelter, we realized we could save more, so we loaded up 122 cats and dogs and brought them back to Nova Scotia to get a second chance at a “furever” home. It was a long, difficult drive with no sleep or rest; one person driving and the other tending to the 122 animals onboard. As of today, all 122 animals have been adopted into loving homes here in Atlantic Canada.
